Paul McDonagh
Paul is a Qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist with a BA(hons) degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy with youth studies, from the Irish college of humanities and applied sciences (ICHAS). Paul is also an APCP member practising and adhering to their code of ethics.
Paul offers a safe and trusting environment and uses attentive listening and a non-judgemental viewpoint as the foundation to the relationship, in the here and now. He incorporates an integrative approach, and focusses on the mastery of the self, and of the journey of self-discovery within the clients. Paul also brings creative approaches into the therapeutic relationships, to highlight unseen barriers restrictive to client development and self-growth.
Paul works with adults and youths in the everyday challenges confronting them, that incorporate stress and anxiety, childhood traumas, family dynamics, low self-esteem, self- awareness, trauma, loss and disconnection. Also with his youth studies background, he has worked with bullying, school pressures, traumas, the self, social media guidance, substance awareness, building resilience, coping skills and identifying negative and positive approaches for life situations.
