Simon Rees
Simon Rees is a fully qualified psychotherapist and counsellor and has been working as a therapist in Bray since 2023. He has a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling and a Higher Diploma in Counselling. He is a member of the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP).
Simon came to this profession after experiencing first-hand the power of psychotherapy to help a person become more at peace, have more successful relationships and lead a happier life. He believes that the first step in helping a client is to create a safe and confidential space where they can share what is troubling them. Simon practises integrative psychotherapy - this means that he has been trained in a range of different psychotherapy approaches, and for each client he draws from these different methodologies to meet their individual needs.
His clients bring a wide range of issues to him. For example, some may be suffering the pain from losing a loved one, others struggling in a difficult or abusive relationship in the home or workplace or struggling with the aftermath of addiction. Many clients come for help with managing the effects in adulthood of a difficult childhood. If Simon feels that another therapist can better meet your needs, he won’t hesitate to refer you to colleagues with other specialisms.
In addition, Simon has particular interests in the challenges that people face around body image or living with a disability, and in healing the scars caused by boarding schools.
